September Lunch Bunch

The September Lunch Bunch has been scheduled for the recently opened 98 Cannon Riverfront Grill on Thursday, September 5 at 12:30 p.m.  It is located at 98 Cannon Street, Chestertown.  The dining room, bar, and deck have been completely renovated and have riverfront views.  The menu includes soups, salads, and appetizers in addition to seafood specials, riverfront specials, sandwiches, pizza, and dessert.  You can also make plans to sit or walk along the waterfront and take a stroll through the center of Chestertown before or after lunch.  Please invite your neighbors, especially new SV residents.

Public Comment Sought: Maryland Toll Modernization

With the new Toll Modernization system  coming online in  2020, the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) is seeking public comment on a package of toll options that would provide cost savings for customers.  The public is invited to comment on the following proposals (go to the website for all the details):
       A new Pay-by-Plate payment option which will allow tolls to be automatically billed to credit cards;
       A new vehicle classification system with lower rates; and
       A new 15% discount for Video Tolling customers.
To comment on the proposals:
       Go to the above website to submit comments online;
       Go to the above website to download a comment card to be mailed; or
       Attend one of the nine public hearings: The only hearing on the Eastern Shore is on Thursday, September 12, 6 – 8 p.m., Kent Island High school, 900 Love Point Road, Stevensville.
The public comment period ends on October 3.

Outreach’s Tea and Fashion Show Tickets Are Now On Sale

Sign-up sheets are in the Activities Book for you to sign up to attend the Tea and Fashion Show on Sunday, September 22, 2:30 p.m., at The Milestone in Easton.  Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for young ladies ages 8 – 17.  Make your check payable to SVOPI and place it in the black lock  box in the Wall Street Room.  Tickets will be delivered to you when payment is received.  Thank you for your support!  Any questions?  Contact Loretta Quigley or Linda Blume.
