Symphony Village Clubs and Continuing Activities are listed below. For more information on a particular club or activity, phone the contact person. For the schedules of the committees, clubs, and activities, check the SV Calendar  as times may change..

Artisans Guild: Pat Glaunert, 336-406-0443

The SV Artisan’s Guild Committee promotes the artistic talents of our community members by conducting periodic art shows in the Clubhouse’s Concert Hall. All forms of art created by residents can be displayed in the shows and can be offered for sale at the choice of each individual artist.

Bible Study Group: Eunice Cordrey, 484-574-4417

The Bible study is open to everyone and is non-denominational. We meet weekly on Fridays at the Clubhouse, at 12 noon. You are welcome to join us as we fellowship and grow in our faith. We have many interesting discussions as we dig deep into the study of God's Word. For more information, give me a call.

Billiards: Lewis Detch, 410-991-3175

We play billiards Monday thru Saturday between nine to noon and have 6 to 8 players. We alternate teams playing either eight ball or nine ball.

Bocce: Tony Cipriano, 443-262-8610

We have lots of fun playing bocce on Wednesdays @ 3p.m. March to May; Wednesdays @ 4 p.m. June to August; and Wednesdays @ 3pm September to October. Check the Master Calendar as times may change. The courts are located beside the Picnic Pavilion behind the Clubhouse. New players are always welcome!

Book Club - Reading for Fun: Joe Sikes, 443-262-8524

Our Book Club regularly meets at 7p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month in the Clubhouse. We also provide a Zoom link for those who wish to attend virtually. The Libretto publishes a review of the previous month's book along with an upcoming schedule and list of books The meeting is open to anyone and is a balanced mixture of men and women. Bridge: Wednesday night 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.; Thursday afternoon 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Bridge is played at the Clubhouse. All levels of bridge players are welcome, but some bridge experience is needed. To play, contact Carol Hodges, 410-758-0591. If interested in learning bridge, contact Carol for information on beginning bridge instruction.

Bunco:

CERT: John Olson, 443-262-8458

The mission of the Symphony Village Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is twofold: (1) to prepare, protect, and assist our families, friends, and neighbors within Symphony Village as first responders in the event of a minor or major disaster before official emergency personnel can arrive, and (2) to assist the Queen Anne’s County Emergency Management organization, as required, within Queen Anne’s County in the event of a major disaster. To become a member, a person needs to complete a certification course in CERT including CERT procedures, first aid, CPR, and use of an AED (defibrillator). Anyone is welcome to join CERT; we especially need persons with medical, fire, current CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications, or similar backgrounds and training. We have meetings about every 6 weeks and often have local speakers. We periodically have refresher training and drills. Contact John for more information and to join a class.

Cycling: Charles Anderson 410-977-5521

Many SV cyclers meet mid-morning every other day, weather permitting, at 346 Overture Way. We make every effort to cycle on farm roads that have minimal traffic other than friendly deer. We also like cycling the Cross Island Trail, Wye Island area, Romancoke, etc. Rides average twenty-five miles in length. Contact Charles if you are interested in cycling with us. Your name will be added to the list of cyclers. A text will be sent to you the evening of the next days planned cycling. Please remember that helmets are necessary along with water and a light at each end of your bike.

Dominoes: Volunteer Position Open!!!

There are a number of different types of dominoes games. we are currently playing Mexican Train. Most domino games are blocking games, i.e., the objective is to empty one's hand whilst blocking the opponents. In the end, a score may be determined by counting the spots (called pips) in the losing players' hands.

Golf:

We play nine holes Tuesdays and Fridays at Hog Neck Golf Executive Course for $30 each time. Meet at the Clubhouse parking lot at 9 a.m. to carpool. All golfers are welcome!

Women’s Golf: Carol Hodges, 410-758-0591

Women play nine holes of golf on Wednesdays and Fridays at Blue Heron for $20.We meet in the Clubhouse parking lot to carpool. Call Carol to get on the email list for weekly notices. Come join us!

Hand and Foot: Check the Master Calendar for times and places,

Hand and Foot is a North American game related to Canasta, in which each player is dealt two sets of cards - the hand, which is played first, and the foot, which is played when the hand has been used up. There are numerous variations of this game and no standard rules.

Healthy Lifestyles Carolyn Harty, cell 703-203-6696

Healthy Lifestyles is a group formed to promote healthy living through shared discussion and education.  Participants will be exploring diet, exercise, sleep, stress, mental health, and all aspects of personal wellness that contribute to healthy living. Meets every Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the small conference room.  There is a$5 fee each week. No need to sign up. Drop in

Knitting and Crocheting: Jeannette Painter 1-775-225-3731

Do you enjoy knitting and crocheting? Do you need a bit of help with a new or ongoing project? Do you like company as you work? This group is for you! We meet on Mondays at 10 a.m. in the Arts and Crafts Room at the Clubhouse. Bring anything you are working on.

Lunch Bunch: Marge Strano and Bea Trotta.

The Lunch Bunch invites Symphony Village residents to enjoy lunch at a featured restaurant eight to nine times a year. Most of the lunches are scheduled during the months of April through December. A community-wide announcement is made with an eBlast from the Symphony Village Management. In addition, lunch destinations and dates are announced in the Libretto, on the SV Website, and on Nextdoor.  Watch for the sign-up sheet usually posted on the 17th of each month in the Activities Book at the Clubhouse for detailed information. We always welcome suggestions for new destinations and would welcome other community residents interested in participating in the planning of these events. Keep in mind that the restaurant should be within a maximum drive of 40 minutes from our community. The restaurant should also be able to handle about 30 participants and preferably provide individual checks, If you have suggestions, want to share in the planning, or want to have your name added to the email list to receive announcements directly, please call or send a message to Bea Trotta (bptrotta@gmail.com or 610-217-4754) or Marge Strano (mbestrano@gmail.com or 609-221-6378).  

Mah Jong: Carol Hodges, 410-758-0591

Mah Jong is a fascinating rummy-like game played with tiles rather than cards. It is a good “brain stimulation” game, yet not hard to learn. We meet to play several times each week at the Clubhouse. Check the calendar for times and place. Both experienced players and newcomers are welcome. For more information or to schedule lessons please call Carol.

Outreach Program: JoAnn Walker, 410-336-6894

The Symphony Village Outreach Program, Inc. is a non-profit 501-c3 organization created by the residents of Symphony Village to provide financial support to charitable and civic organizations in Queen Anne’s County. Outreach celebrated its 17th anniversary in 2023.

Through its fundraising efforts such as the Author Luncheon, Annual Card and Game Party, HOA Raffle and other events, Outreach has been able to support a number of organizations in Queen Anne’s County including:

  • Compass Regional Hospice's Camp New Dawn

  • UM Shore Emergency Center at Queenstown

  • Haven Ministries Shelter and Food Pantry

  • QAC Arts Council

  • QAC Historical Society

  • QAC Social Services Food Pantry

  • Goodwill Fire Company and Ambulance Service

  • Crossroads Community

Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 3 p.m. in the Concert Hall. We always welcome new members.

Need a place to do your latest painting project, or learn a new technique, or just share painting ideas? Come to meet with other artists in the Arts and Crafts Room on Thursdays, 9:30 - 11:30. Call Peggy if any questions.

Pickleball: Rosemary Rosenberger, 443-262-8452 (home); 443-676-3875 (cell)

Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines the elements of badminton, tennis, and ping pong. Four (doubles) or two (singles) players use paddles to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net on a court one fourth the size of a tennis court. Pickleball is said to be one of the fastest growing sports in the U.S. Pickleball is great exercise for our community of 55+ active adults. We welcome all Symphony Village members to play!

Please join us in play at our SV Pickleball Courts located at the Tennis Courts – or just stop by to see what it is all about and borrow a paddle from a player and give it a try. Check the Symphony Village Master Calendar for “meet-up” days/times, as well as the monthly Libretto for additional pickleball information. Pinochle is a card game played with a 40-card deck. It is a lot of fun and easy to learn. No experience is necessary to join our group one or two evenings a week at the Clubhouse. New players are always welcome. We are trying to increase the numbers in our little group, so if you are interested in seeing how the game is played, please join us! Meeting time is Tuesdays at 6:30 – 8..

We are a group of men and women who meet Wednesdays 6:30 to 11 p.m. at the Clubhouse to play Dealer’s Choice. All are welcome to join us.

Quilting: MaryKay Kerr, 240-281-7246

SV Quilting Club meets in the Craft Room at the Clubhouse the first and third Tuesday of the month at 10 am. The members represent all levels of quilting expertise from beginner to experienced. We welcome new members anytime! Besides the regular meetings, the group periodically has all day quilt-a-thons, takes classes at various quilt shops, and goes on field trips to different quilt shows and shops.

Challenge your brain. Join us in a friendly game to increase your use and knowledge of words. Come to the Arts and Crafts Room at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Tennis: Larry Miller, 443-262-8270

One of the SV courts is routinely used for tennis Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Both courts are lined for pickleball as well as for tennis. See the pickleball schedule. Your help identifying residents interested in tennis, especially those new to Symphony Village, would be appreciated. See you on the courts.

We are a lively group of men and women who meet Monday through Friday to work out in the pool and to socialize as a side benefit. It is a great way to keep active and to stay fit and healthy, and it is lots of fun! All are welcome to join us at any of our sessions. We begin at 9 a.m.

Queen Anne’s County Wellness Screening for Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Pulse, and Glucose. 2nd Wednesday Monthly, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Craft Room. Residents can drop in.
