Rainfall in Symphony Village (reported by G. Drake, S. Quigley, J. Arnts)

Experimental Chart

The chart below is shows the average of the previous two week's of rainfall/day (blue curve) as measured at three locations in Symphony Village. The goal (red line) is derived from typical Baltimore Evapotranspiration (ET) and is a function of the date. If the average rainfall exceeds the ET then the grass is happy and we don't need to irrigate per the usual schedule. Grass can typically go up to two weeks without watering before going dormant which we don't want to happen. This along with the 10 day rainfall forecast should be used as guidance for our irrigation schedule. This is currently experimental with the intent of giving better guidance as to irrigation scheduling and water conservation.
